Buckley wraps THREE INCESTUOUS SISTERS

Jessie Buckley is having the kind of year most actors only dream of, and it isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Fresh off her first Oscar win for her role in HAMNET (a victory that felt richly deserved to anyone who’s followed her work), Buckley is already back at it, and the good news is we won’t have long to wait to see the results. She’s just wrapped filming on a new project alongside fellow Irish talent Saoirse Ronan, with the pair set to play sisters in the upcoming film THE THREE INCESTUOUS SISTERS. Joining them is Dakota Johnson, rounding out a trio that began shooting together back in April amid the Italian sunshine. The ensemble doesn’t stop there, with Josh O’Connor and Mick Jagger also part of the cast.

THE THREE INCESTUOUS SISTERS is adapted from Audrey Niffenegger’s 2005 novel of the same name, and if the source material is any indication, audiences are in for something suitably gothic and dramatic. The story follows three sisters, Ophile, Clothilde, and Bettine, who share a house by the sea, their quiet lives upended when a violent storm kills their neighbour, the local lighthouse keeper. When his son Paris arrives to take over the lighthouse duties, both Ophile and Bettine fall for him, though it’s Bettine whose feelings are returned. What follows is a tangle of rivalry, an unusual birth, and a cascade of consequences that leads, eventually, to both tragedy and reconciliation.

No release date has been confirmed just yet for THE THREE INCESTUOUS SISTERS, but with a cast this stacked and a story this strange and compelling, it’s easily one to keep an eye on.
