MOBLAND is officially back, and Paramount+ pulled out all the stops to prove it. The streamer threw a red carpet premiere ahead of the gangster drama’s Season 2 debut on September 18, with stars Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan turning out at the Odeon Luxe in London’s Leicester Square.
The glitzy send-off caps a rocky road to renewal — at one point it looked like Hardy had walked away from the project entirely amid tension with writer and showrunner Butterworth, casting real doubt over whether the show would continue. But those differences have since been smoothed over, and the good news kept coming: Paramount confirmed just last week that MOBLAND has already been renewed for a third season.
As for what’s ahead, Season 2 throws the Harrigan family into chaos from within, pitting them against each other as rival gangs circle their north London crime empire. Holding it all together falls to Harry, played by Hardy, who’s left walking a tightrope to keep his fracturing family from imploding just as outside threats close in.
