Eve Hewson of BAD SISTERS honoured

Eve Hewson, the Irish actress now starring alongside Sharon Horgan on the dark Apple TV+ comedy BAD SISTERS, will be saluted at the 17th annual Oscar Wilde Awards in March, it was announced Monday. Hewson will receive the Wilde Card Award, which event organizer Trina Vargo, president of the US-Ireland Alliance, notes is used “to bring attention to rising talent who may not yet be a household name, but who we expect will be.”

Irish director John Carney’s FLORA AND SON, is a US-Ireland co-production from Dublin-based Treasure Entertainment. BAD SISTERS star Eve Hewson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt star in the film about a woman inspired by a guitar she finds in a bin for her teenage son. Carney is the filmmaker behind ONCE and SING STREET, both of which garnered critical acclaim upon release.

Hewson shoots in Dublin

Eve Hewson may be an international star who has made her name on the global stage – but once again she is filming in her hometown of Dublin. Fresh from shooting last November in the capital Sharon Horgan’s new Irish based TV series EMERALD, which also Sarah Greene and Eva Birthistle, Bono’s daughter is back filming. She is taking part in the John Carney directed flick FLORA and SON, in which she stars alongside American actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
