Ireland’s Golden Globe nominations
Irish actors Barry Keoghan, Cillian Murphy and Andrew Scott have all been nominated for a Golden Globe. Keoghan is nominated for his performance in SALTBURN, Murphy for his role in OPPENHEIMER and Scott for his lead role in ALL OF US STRANGERS in which he stars alongside fellow Irishman Paul Mescal. The 81st Golden Globe Awards will take place January 7, 2024, at the Beverly Hilton, its home since 1961.

The annual Golden Globes ceremony is due to make a star-studded return tonight following a muted ceremony in 2022 – and it could be a great night for the Irish. Kerry Condon, Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Domhnall Gleeson and Barry Keoghan, and THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN writer-director Martin McDonagh are among this year’s nominees. Condon, Farrell, Brendan Gleeson and Keoghan are nominated for their performances in McDonagh’s film.
Ireland shines with Golden Globes nominations
Irish cinema is taking over the Golden Globes this year with THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN nominated for eight awards. Established stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson are both nominated for their roles in the black comedy about a friendship falling apart. Co-stars Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan have received acting nods while London Irish writer-director Martin McDonagh has been nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Director.
Ireland shines in Golden Globe noms
Irish actress Ruth Negga is among the 2022 Golden Globes nominees for her performance in the acclaimed racial drama PASSING, while a host of stars from Kenneth Branagh’s BELFAST have also been shortlisted. Negga joins fellow Irish actress Catríona Balfe, one of the stars of BELFAST in the Best Supporting Actress category for the 2022 Golden Globes nominations which were announced on December 13.
