An Irish town has been transformed into a set as filming for Pierce Brosnan’s new movie takes place. Those in Antrim recalled a great “buzz and excitement” around the town on Friday as the Market Square area was transformed into a French village for the filming of THE LAST RIFLEMAN. Filming began in Antrim Castle Gardens, before moving into the town, where World War Two era jeeps were spotted alongside French flags, bunting, and a number of buildings being turned into French bars and shops.

It’s not every day we have an A-list celebrity visiting Northern Ireland, but Pierce Brosnan has been spotted around the region over the past couple of weeks. The James Bond actor has been pictured with fans in and around Co Down, and has been spotted enjoying lunch at a top restaurant in Belfast city centre recently. Speaking after a visit to Fontana in Holywood, Adam Stockman from the restaurant said the actor was scheduled to be in the area for “five or six weeks while filming.”
