Eagle-eyed fans have caught BANSHEES OF INISHERIN star Brendan Gleeson in the new trailer for THE JOKER: FOLIE A DEUX. The official trailer for the upcoming filming, in which Lady Gaga stars opposite Joaquin, debuted at ComicCon in Las Vegas earlier this week. Gleeson is heard hollering ‘Wakey, wakey!’ in the opening scene of the trailer, suggesting he’ll portray a guard in Arkham Asylum where Joker and Harley Quinn are housed.

Next month’s 77th Cannes Film Festival will feature an unprecedented Irish presence with three films produced by Dublin’s Element Pictures to form part of the official selection. KINDS OF KINDNESS reunites Element Pictures with POOR THINGS director Yorgos Lanthimos, THE APPRENTICE, a biopic about the early years of Donald Trump by Iran-born director Ali Abbasi, includes the Dublin-based Tailored Films among its producers and BIRD, starring SALTBURN star Barry Keoghan, will also receive its world premiere and screen in competition at the festival.
