The dad-of-three admitted his affliction as he launched his latest project, SLEEP SOUND WITH JAMIE DORNAN. The six-part podcast series of 20-minute recordings is designed to help listeners drift off peacefully and features immersive soundscapes, from the Amazon rainforest to the Namibian desert, all accompanied by the Bangor actor’s soothing Irish brogue as narrator.

Neeson marks 100th movie

Liam Neeson just turned 100. That’s not years, but movies. In December, the Irish actor, 69, finished his 100th film. “I can’t friggin’ believe it!” he says of the milestone. “For the first time in my life, I can say I’m really, really proud: I’ve made a hundred movies! It’s just extraordinary.” This month, he’s back onscreen in MEMORY, an action thriller from CASINO ROYALE director Martin Campbell. He plays Alex Lewis, an assassin battling early stages of Alzheimer’s disease who becomes a target himself when he refuses to complete a job assignment from a dangerous criminal syndicate.

Thanks to her performances in films like I’M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS and THE LOST DAUGHTER, the Irish actor Jessie Buckley is quickly becoming one of the most critically beloved up-and-coming movie stars in the world. So it’s a very cool surprise to learn that Buckley has now recorded a whole album and that she’s done it with Bernard Butler, the former Suede guitarist. Buckley and Butler have finished work on their collaborative LP For All Our Days That Tear The Heart, and it’s coming out this June.

Aidan Turner as Bond?

Dublin actor Aidan Turner has seen his odds slashed to 7-1 in the race to play the next James Bond. The Clondalkin man is now fifth favourite behind Rege-Jean Page, Henry Cavill and Michael Fassbender, sitting at 7-1 alongside Idris Elba. He has even overtaken previous favourite Tom Hardy this week. The new ranking also puts Turner ahead of previous front-runners Lashana Lynch (10-1) and Jamie Dornan (12-1).

John Carney to direct Bee Gees biopic

Irish director John Carney, whose credits include the Oscar-winning ONCE, is to direct a biopic of pop icons the Bee Gees. US entertainment trade publication Deadline says the film from studio Paramount Pictures will include surviving Bee Gee Barry Gibb among its executive producers. GK Films, the company behind the Freddie Mercury biopic BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY and the Elton John biopic ROCKETMAN, is producing.

Jessie Buckley in MEN
