Brosnan in THE LAST RIFLEMAN

An Irish town has been transformed into a set as filming for Pierce Brosnan’s new movie takes place. Those in Antrim recalled a great “buzz and excitement” around the town on Friday as the Market Square area was transformed into a French village for the filming of THE LAST RIFLEMAN. Filming began in Antrim Castle Gardens, before moving into the town, where World War Two era jeeps were spotted alongside French flags, bunting, and a number of buildings being turned into French bars and shops.

Gleeson in THE PATIENT

Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson will co-star in the new FX thriller THE PATIENT with Steve Carell. In the 10 episode limited series, Steve Carell plays a therapist held hostage by his serial killer patient. According to EW, the psychological thriller will follow shrink Alan Strauss (Carell) as he helps the troubled Sam Fortner (Gleeson) “navigate complex emotions.”

The trailer for new Irish-language movie RÓISE AND FRANK, which is set to hit cinemas on September 16, has been released. The eagerly-awaited movie takes place in the Gaeltacht area in Ring, Co. Gleeson’s Emmy nomination

Brendan Gleeson, a native of Dublin, has been nominated in the Outstanding Actor In A Short Form Comedy Or Drama Series category for the 2022 Emmy Awards for his role as Scott in STATE OF THE UNION. This is Gleeson’s second Emmy nomination. In 2009, he was nominated – and won – in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries Or Movie for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in INTO THE STORM.

Farrell in THIRTEEN LIVES

Colin Farrell will star in THIRTEEN LIVES, a new film depicting the aquatic rescue of 12 young footballers from a cave in Thailand. The film follows the expedition to save the youngsters and their coach, who became trapped after the cave flooded in 2018. Directed by Ron Howard, the film stars Farrell and Viggo Mortensen as divers John Volanthen and Richard Stanton respectively.
