Acclaimed Irish actors Liam Neeson and Ciarán Hinds are teaming up for the first time in a new thriller film which is expected to begin production next year. Entitled IN THE LAND OF SAINTS & SINNERS, Neeson will play a “newly retired assassin”, who, you guessed it, gets dragged back into the job he so desperately wants to leave behind.
THE ICE ROAD is Neeson’s latest film, arriving this week on Netflix, and it continues his career’s somewhat improbable second act as an action hero. Neeson stars here as Mike McCann, a trucker who is one of several drivers recruited to transport three large, heavy drills to a remote northern Canada mine in order to free miners trapped in a collapse.
Liam Neeson has told of how the script for his new movie – about a father and son who bond after their wife and mother dies – left his gut “churning” because it mirrored his own life. The TAKEN star said while the script for MADE IN ITALY wasn’t written for him, it was “near the knuckle” following the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson.
Liam Neeson is returning for another action thriller centred on an ageing assassin on a mission of vengeance. The Ballymena-born star is teaming up with Martin Campbell, whose previous credits include Casino Royale and Goldeneye, on the new film titled MEMORY.
