GRABBERS director Jon Wright is back with the creature feature UNWELCOME (formerly The Little People), and it’s getting a brand new release date just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. The film, described as Gremlins meets Straw Dogs, spins a tale of what happens to people who come in contact with the violent, bloodthirsty goblins known originally in Irish folklore as the fear dearg or “far darrig,” now often referred to worldwide as the “Redcaps.”

Mescal cast in GLADIATOR 2

The NORMAL PEOPLE actor has been cast in the starring role in Ridley Scott’s long-promised sequel to his 2000 Best Picture winner GLADIATOR. Mescal will take on the starring role of the adult Lucius (played by Spencer Treat Clark in the original movie), who will presumably have to give up his fancy “nephew of the now dead emperor” lifestyle in order to to live up to the example that Russell Crowe’s general-turned-gladiator Maximus set in the original movie.

Colin Farrell honoured at PSIFF

Colin Farrell has been honoured at the 34th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival. The Dublin native was presented the Desert Palm Achievement Award for his Oscar-tipped performance in the Martin McDonagh-directed THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN. Speaking to Variety, the actor praised his fellow Irish co-star Brendan Gleeson, saying their next project together couldn’t come “soon enough”.
